Coffee Break.

I just had this intense coffee break at starbucks with my friend Maria. We sat outside in the sun and discussed out love for fashion and how we aspire to be in the industry in our own ways and how people aren'y willing to give people like us a chance blah blah blah, anyway this cool old hippy happened to overhear our conversation and we got into something special.

He started telling us about when he was growing up in the sixties, the parties, he love, the drugs everything, and how free and happy life in london was and how being different, having these aspirations was cool and exciting and that people were willing to take a chance on you because of your originality and passion.

I LOVED EVERYTHING HE SAID!!!

We got into this deep conversation about the soulless nature of london and the spiritual death of people. It was like all those years of drugs took its toll in the best way and gave him this amazing clarity and outlook on life. What was even more amazing about it was that he saw us as genuinely passionate and honest people, it made my day completely.

It's brilliant to hear his thoughts and opinions on modern day society and it not be the same boring tale an old person would tell you.

The Fashion Show.

Two years of work has been leading down to this moment. Our BTEC Fashion Show. The chance we get to showcase our garments and hard work to friends and family.
For my final major project I decided to design a menswear collection based on 70's Pop culture and Aztec Patterns. I also decided to model the final garment, which i was really excited for at first but then the day came to actually do it and I've never been more terrified in my life.

Preshow prep was alot of fun, watching everyone manically trying to finish their garments, do make-up and hair and try to act cool about everything was pretty hilarious.

When it came time for the runway, I was so scared to walk out, my knees were shaking, it was so nerve racking, but I don't know what happened because as soon as the door opened and the music started playing ( I walked out to an instrumental of Lady Gaga - Alejandro) the nerves disappeared. I thought I walked it pretty well.

Anywho here's some pictures from the day.

YUP! That's me, strutting it, in the suit I made.

I'll upload some more when i get the photographers photos, better angles and all.

Prom.

In the process of catching up i thought i'd share some memories from my prom. Prom was interesting to say the least, there was so much childish drama it was unreal, but that thoroughly entertained me. Music was unfortunately a let done, it was nothing but bashment and grime, I danced to two songs throughout the night and I can name them.

Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor
Rihanna - Only Girl In The World

Excitement.
I was intending to get drunk that night too, but the bar was a mess, they barely put an alcohol in their drinks. On the upside, people really put effort into their outfits, and not to sound vain but I thought I looked relatively suave.

Birthday Fiesta

This past June 1st I turned 18 (woo), and i threw this party in my garden, a Mexican themed Fiesta party. Suffice to say it was a great night, i had my closest friends and family there and i loved every minute of it, from the alcohol abuse, rap battles, scorpion eating, funeral and the Pinatas!! I had an epic evening that i will never forget, and i cant wait for next year, because i've already got some great ideas to top it.

Thoughts on our home made Poncho's?

Art Exam - Final Pieces.

Here are a bunch of the final pieces from this is Art Exam. Everyone did so amazing, the talent in our year group is unreal.

My Final Pieces, Pen on Canvas/Watercolour  flowers on WC paper. Took me 11 out of the 12 hours to complete. Pretty proud of it.

This is my friend Katie's final piece, she's so amazingly skilled at painting its unreal.

Here is LuAnne's final piece, i don't know how she managed to complete an canvas A1, but she did and she did it incredibly.

Below is Terri's final piece, which was my favourite anyone done, its messed up just like her.

I'll put up a couple more soon, once i get some clearer pictures. Thoughts on the work above?

Spring Looks - Going Natural.

Spring is here and its looking good, I'm actually in shorts right now, gotta embrace this dodgy English weather while I have the chance. With new seasons comes new looks and going Natural is gonna be big this season for us guys. Its time to start looking for fresh & natural coloured clothing, looking into grassy greens,  navy blues and creams and off-whites. Not just in your clothes but your shoes, i recently bought a pair of Dusty Brown Canvas Boots for wear about with my Chino shorts but I dont think im going to break those out for a another month or so...so short.

Topman is probably one of the best places to shop for this look, their stock is constantly being updated with more and more get items.
I think a must have item for this season is pair of creamy coloured Chinos like these:

For the dudettes i recommend checking out my friend Nicola's blog, which i'll link below.

Aphrodite Les Folies

This past Thursday night I finally got to see one of my idols live in concert, Kylie Minogue. The show was outstanding, the production and attention to detail that went into creating the Greek Goddess inspired stage and costumes was immense and Kylie looked INCREDIBLE!!! Since I was only going to one concert this year i decided to go all out and buy the best seats I could, and man oh man were they good seats. I had the time of my life that night and judging by the reception she received from the crowd, so did everyone else. My favourite part of the show was the sultry rendition of Slow and the outstanding finale of All The Lovers. i wish i was going again, it was THE greatest concert of my life!!! Check out a couple of the pics I took below.
